The install appeared to go normally but the end result was a non-working preference pane when I opened System Preferences after the install. Rebooted to double check that I had never used System Preferences before running the Backblaze installer.I noticed that in this case when I did open System Preferences the pref pane icon for Backblaze was just a white blob rather than the proper icon.

The pref pane was still broken after this. I did this but at the end of the install I briefly got the same pop up before the install complete screen showed. Even though the System Preferences were closed, I got a warning to 'Please close System Preferences'.OK, I've tried several installs using the latest 8.01.568 version : Just download that and install it over the top of whatever you have and you will be fixed. But they also wanted to expose the insides of these "Packages" pretty easily if there was an issue.ĮDIT: for anybody that is reading this, here is a fix: It's the same thing.ĮXPLANATION: Apple wanted the nice metaphor of having one "file" represent an executable and a bunch of additional surrounding configuration files, artwork, and logs and didn't want to bother users in normal working situations from dealing with the insides. It should open up a finder window inside that folder.Īn alternative is to go to /Library/ and then hold down the button on your keyboard while clicking on the Backblaze.bzpkg file, and say "Show Package Contents". When the dialog comes up, type (or copy paste):
